Here is an interesting fact - before I studied Games Design and Development, I hardly played any games at all, and yet I desired to pursue it as part of my post-secondary education. Here is another interesting fact - I wanted to specialise as an artist under the Games Development Course that I was pursuing.
Yet here I am, pursuing the path of programming, undertaking a Computer Science Degree in late 2022. Life is certainly full of surprises. Despite my lack of experience with games, I desperately wanted to study Games Design and Development solely because of the idea that I wanted to create something. And I was fortunate to study under Singapore Polytechnic where they provided holistic learning, which I then developed the passion for programming.
I aspire to be a Software Engineer as I want to learn more about programming beyond games; development of desktop applications, mobile applications, web applications, complex systems and softwares such as game engines, developing bots - there are countless of areas where the programming skill set is needed and I want to experience as much as I can, to further develop my skills, to learn more about different technologies, frameworks that can inspire me to be a better programmer and a better problem solver.
